The Mirror
Intentional Communication through Drama
Teachers and Management Staff participating in ‘The Mirror - Intentional Communication through Drama’, September 2026, Busto Arsizio (IT)
The Mirror is an experiential workshop exploring how we communicate, listen, and understand one another. Using drama as a reflective tool, participants are invited to look closely at their own patterns of communication- how intention, tone, and body language shape interaction- and how awareness can transform everyday exchanges into more meaningful, effective dialogue.
At its heart, The Mirror is about intentional communication: learning to recognise what we bring into our encounters with others, and discovering how empathy, clarity, and self-awareness can shift the outcome of any conversation.
Approach
This project combines elements of dramatic practice, reflective writing, and guided discussion. Participants move between action and reflection- observing themselves and others, experimenting with new ways of expressing and listening, and developing a deeper sense of presence in communication.
Sessions include:
• Explorations of how intention influences words, tone, and movement
• Creative exercises focused on reaction and response
• Dramatic scenarios exploring conflict and resolution
• Reflective writing to observe communication from different perspectives
• Improvisation, rhythm, and collaborative exercises that cultivate listening and trust
The structure is adaptable — the project can be shaped to fit different timeframes (from short sessions to multi-day intensives) and participant needs.
Themes
• Intention and Impact: becoming aware of what we communicate beneath our words
• Reaction and Response: moving from impulse to conscious choice
• Listening as Action: hearing beyond the surface, with empathy and attention
• Conflict as Contact: finding common ground without erasing difference
• Self and Other balancing authenticity with understanding
Outcomes
By engaging with The Mirror, participants gain tools to:
• Communicate with greater awareness and precision
• Listen more deeply and respond more intentionally
• Understand how their presence and energy affect others
• Navigate moments of tension or misunderstanding constructively
• Build stronger, more empathetic relationships — both personally and professionally
Format
The Mirror can be delivered in a variety of formats, including:
• Half-day or full-day workshops
• Two-day intensives
• Multi-session programmes for organisations or educational settings
Each iteration maintains the same core aim: to create a space where communication becomes an act
of reflection — where we learn not only to express ourselves, but to truly meet one another.
